Opponent Hitting Percentage + Hitting Differential
Opp Hit% answers: when opponents swung against this team, how efficient were they?
It uses the same PCT math as offense — (Opp K − Opp E) / Opp TA — credited from the opponent’s attack line. Lower Opp Hit% is better for the defending team.
Hitting differential
Hit differential ≈ Team Hit% − Opp Hit%
Positive differential means your offense has been more efficient than the attacks you allowed (in raw PCT terms). It is a blunt “who controlled the net” season story — not a pure defense grade.

Related team system note: assists / kills
Assists ÷ kills (team) is a rough distribution cleanliness signal:
- Near 1.0 → most kills are assisted (clean set→kill offense)
- Lower → more overpass kills / chaos terminations (which can still be good offense)
Examples from the same snapshot: Nebraska ~0.92, Pittsburgh ~0.94, Texas ~0.95. Do not shame a lower ratio without watching — overpass kills are points.

What Opp Hit% does not mean
- Not “blocks alone”
- Not sideout% or FBSO (those need rally coding — teach-only via Evollve / Volleymetrics explainers)
