Club weekends feel like free agency. NCAA rules are a calendar. This page summarizes widely published Division I women’s volleyball recruiting landmarks so families know what questions to ask. It is not a substitute for a coach, club director, or compliance officer.

- Coaches are restricted on when they can reply, call, text, DM, evaluate off campus, or host visits—by division and by date

Division II and III (high-level)

Practical timeline by grade (editorial)
Freshman / early sophomore
- Train, film, and build a target list
- Email coaches with film + academics (you can reach out; replies may be limited)
- Prioritize club exposure and grades over logo chasing
Late sophomore (after June 15)
- DI/D2 communication may open—response volume jumps
- Keep a CRM: who replied, camps, questionnaires
Junior year
- Campus visits (official/unofficial per rules)
- Compare depth charts and position need honestly

Academics are not optional
Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center early if DI/D2 is the goal. Core-course and amateurism questions end more dreams than a missed tournament.
